Terms and Conditions
The following terms and conditions govern your use of the RCABC Roofing Practices Manual (RPM) and the information contained in the RPM. By clicking below you acknowledge and agree to the Terms and Conditions.

The following information is based on typical roof, damp, and waterproofing applications, as well as building envelope installations, for projects constructed in the Province of British Columbia and the climatic zones that define this area. The standards, specifications, and application procedures contained herein may not be suitable for construction projects in regions where the climate differs from those in British Columbia.

Use of the RPM
The use of the RPM is for the purpose of a member of the Roofing Contractors Association of British Columbia (RCABC) qualifying for a RoofStar Guarantee from the Roofing Contractors Association of British Columbia Guarantee Corp (RGC) under the RoofStar Guarantee Program. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the RPM is available for use, subject to the Terms and Conditions, by professionals having competency in the roofing industry and in the practices described in the RPM.

RGC Guarantee Standards
(i) The RGC Guarantee Standards set forth in the RPM plus all additions and changes to them and, including without limitation, all standards, explanations, recommendations, requirements, instructions, guidelines and descriptions, are published to state the guarantee standards to be met and guidelines to be followed for issuance of a RoofStar Guarantee by RGC under the RoofStar Guarantee Program.

Changes may be made to the information in the RPM and/or to the products and processes described therein at any time and without notice and any part of the Guarantee Standards may, at any time, be superseded by RCABC/RGC publications or by a decision of the RCABC/RGC Board of Directors or by acts of others. Accordingly, users are responsible for determining that the contents of the RPM are current.

In the ongoing formulation of these standards, RGC relies on the advice of, and information from architects, manufacturers, and others active in, or affecting, the roofing, waterproofing and building envelope industry. The RPM cannot be relied upon by anyone involved in the design, specification, or installation of a particular roof, waterproofing or building envelope project, as only the design authority for any specific roof or waterproofing project is in a position to be aware of, consider, and provide advice on all factors bearing on a particular project. Accordingly, RGC's responsibility for its Guarantee Standards and the contents of the RPM is limited to specific guarantees issued by RGC under the RoofStar Guarantee Program. The users of the RPM must rely strictly on the advice and work of the design authority on each project, to the exclusion of RGC.

(ii) Should a conflict arise between a manufacturer's published specifications and the RGC Guarantee Standards, written agreement must be secured from RGC for determination of the appropriate standard.

(iii) Should a conflict arise between a manufacturer's published specifications and the guidelines set forth in the RPM, the latest RGC Guarantee Standards shall supersede all other RGC guidelines.

(iv) Should a conflict arise between the RGC Guarantee Standards and the guidelines set forth in the RPM, the latest RGC Guarantee Standards shall supersede all other RGC guidelines.

Copyright
The RPM is protected by copyright and/or trademark. Unauthorized use of the RPM may violate copyright, trademark and other laws.

Restrict Access
RGC may, at its sole discretion, at any time and without notice restrict your access to the RPM.

Amended Terms and Conditions
RGC may modify and amend the Terms and Conditions from time to time in its sole discretion. Each time you log on to the RPM you will be deemed to have accepted any and all such changes. If any change is unacceptable to you, you may immediately terminate your RPM access.

Limitation of Liability
Use of the RPM by non-members of RCABC is permitted provided, however, RGC shall not be liable to such users for any damages whatsoever, including any loss of use, lost data, lost business profits, business intervention, personal injury or any other loss arising out of the use of, inability to use or the results of use of the RPM.

Choice of Laws
The laws of the Province of British Columbia and the laws of Canada applicable therein shall govern as to the interpretation, validity and effect of the Terms and Conditions notwithstanding any conflict of laws provisions or your domicile, residence or physical location. You consent and submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of British Columbia in any action or proceeding initiated under or related to the Terms and Conditions and the use of the RPM.
