- XPRESS BOARD HD is approved for use by the RoofStar Guarantee Program as an insulation overlay board or as a recovery board.
- Xpress Board HD is a mineral wool fibre insulation made from basalt rock and steel slag with a factory-applied polyester reinforced SBS modified bitumen base sheet on the top surface with a thermofusible plastic film on a sanded surface. The base sheet, laminated to the substrate board with an adhesive, is offset from the board on two adjacent edges (1" on one end and 3 3/8" on one side) to provide shiplap; other edges are square. To ensure a secure installation, Xpress Board HD is made up of a patented duo selvege edge unique to Soprema (70% self-adhesive and 30% thermofusible). Its self-adhesive component protects combustible surfaces and its thermofusible properties provide an efficient seal. End laps can be aligned then sealed by heat welding a membrane strip.
- Xpress Board HD products are available in various thicknesses. Each board is folded in two for easy shipping and handling. It can be mechanically fastened or bonded with a full coat of hot asphalt.
- Xpress Board HD can be used for the following applications:
- As a thermal and vapour barrier directly on decks.
- As insulation and base sheet flashing on upstands.
- As insulation and overlay board on all types of insulation.
- As insulation and base sheet in roof assemblies.
- As a recovery board and base sheet on existing roofing.
