OVERVIEW

The (panel machine name) is an on-site continuous panel metal roofing machine. Panel profiles vary from (width, mm and inches) to (width, mm and inches) wide; stiffening ribs are (standard/optional/unavailable).

On-site roll forming provides for the elimination of end laps with continuous panel forming capabilities in lengths up to nominal (length, m and feet).

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. General: The (panel name) is a (description, i.e., mechanically locking, concealed fastener roofing panel, secured with independent standing clips. The panel can be formed in any width between 300 mm (12") to 508 mm (20"). The male leg locks along the entire length of the panel and does not rely upon clips to provide additional locking.)
  2. Range of application: on wood or metal sloped roofs; in commercial, institutional, industrial and residential construction; for re-roofing or new construction.
  3. Fabrication:
    1. Unless otherwise shown on drawings or specified herein, fabricate panels in continuous one piece lengths and fabricate flashings and accessories in longest practical lengths.
    2. Roofing panels shall be factory formed or site formed.
    3. Verify prior to fabrication.
    4. If field measurements differ from drawing dimensions, notify Architect / Professional Engineer prior to fabrication.
  4. Fasteners (Screws): (description, i.e., Fasteners used to attach panel clips to steel to be No. 10 - 16 pancake head, No. 2 Phillips drive, No. 3 self-drilling point steel screws.)
  5. Panel Clips: (description, i.e., One piece assembly, No. 22 MSG min. thick, 88 mm (3½") high. One panel clip spaced at 600 mm (24") on centre for Class 90.)
  6. Deck Requirements: in keeping with the Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Systems.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Wind Uplift Standards: Engineered designs to resist wind uplift may refer to the British Columbia Building Code, Div. B, Appendix C, Table C-2 which lists various types of loads, including wind loads, for specific reference locations throughout the province. See also Guides and Notes (Wind Resistance) for a simplified calculation procedure. Regardless of the resources indicated here, the Design Authority is responsible to perform accurate wind load calculations and specify securement requirements.
  2. Materials:RoofStar (RGC) accepted metal panel systems shall be formed of steel conforming to the standards published in the Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Systems.
