Vegetated Roof System Manufacturer Carlisle SynTec Systems Canada Accepted for the RoofStar Guarantee Program October 25, 2024 Accepted for application in Vegetated Roof Systems Acceptance Criteria Refer to the RGC Standard for Vegetated Roofs System Summary Carlisle Intensive Roof Garden System, often referred to as a "deep" green roof, is a built-in-place system with a growth media depth starting at 20.3 cm (8 in) and beyond. These systems are typically installed over concrete roof decks due to their substantial weight. Intensive green roofs offer nearly limitless possibilities for plant selection and can be engineered to retain significant amounts of stormwater, tailored to the project's needs. Given the greater depth and diverse vegetation options, these systems require a heat-welded root barrier to protect the roof membrane, are the heaviest green roof type, and demand rigorous maintenance, often including a permanently installed irrigation system.
