Asphalt Shingle Details
1 WORK INCLUDED
- (1) Underlayment
- Required, and installed to overlap the Valley Protection Membrane and the Valley Metal Flashing. Install ‘shingle-style’, following the requirements for side and end laps; use acceptable fasteners, or adhere (if a self-adhering membrane) in keeping with the manufacturer’s published requirements.
- (2) Shingles (field)
- (3) Field Shingles
- Fasteners used to secure shingles must be at least 300 mm (12") above the finished surface of the roof waterproofing system.
- (4) Field Membrane
- Secure membrane to water-shedding roof deck at least 300 mm (12") above the finished surface of the roof waterproofing (refer to the related Membrane Standards, Part 9 FIELD MEMBRANE and Part 10 PERIMETERS and WALLS).
