TPO Details
1 WORK INCLUDED
- (1) Roof membrane
- Representative and carried over top of parapet, down the outside face at least 50.8 mm (2”) past any cold joint.
- (2) Cap (coping) flashing
- Fabricated according to the requirements in Part 13.
- (3) Drip edge
- Hemmed edge of cap flashing, broken (bent) outward at least 30° from vertical, and fabricated to receive the cleat; dimensions of the drip edge must conform to the requirements in Article 13.2.2.1.
- (4) Cleat (wind clip)
- Required on the outside face of a parapet and fastened at maximum intervals of 304.8 mm (12”), O.C.
- (5) Metal saddle (Backup plate)
- Fabricated from the same material as the cap flashing, and mechanically secured to the parapet, over the roofing membrane. The saddle is formed with a cleated edge for the outside face of the flashing.
- (6) Sealant
- Required between the saddle ("Backup Plate" – SMACNA) and the cap flashing; apply two parallel beads of untooled gunnable sealant or butyl tape to each end of the saddle to seal the flashing to the saddle.
- (7) Gasketed screws (roof-side face of cap flashing only)
- Permissible in the RGC Standard, but subject to engineering requirements.
