Copper Standing Seam metal roofing systems must meet or exceed RGC Guarantee Standards for architectural concealed fastener metal roofing systems (refer to Section 2.1.4 and 8.1.6.1). RGC Guarantee Standards for the application of copper metal roofing systems are based on reported uplift tests for roof covering systems that have achieved UL 90 classifications, when tested to UL 1897 and or UL 580.

1 WORK INCLUDED

(1) Separation membrane
Separates the deck and the metal edge flashing.
(2) Hook securement strip
In this particular rake edge configuration, a similar strip is installed along the rake to secure the flush rake-edge flashing.
(3) Continuous eave metal flashing
(4) Eave protection
One ply of self-adhered modified bituminous underlayment material. Lap 50 mm (2") minimum on sides and 100 mm (4") minimum on ends.
(5) Underlayment
Applicable for all Architectural Sheet Metal systems. For slopes less than 1:3, the entire roof slope must be covered with a self-adhered underlayment.
(6) Ventilation beneath panels
A ventilation space is required on slopes less than 1:3; entangled mesh (shown) may be used as void fill. The ventilation space facilitates drying as condensation forms on the underside of the metal panels.
(7) Metal panel clip
Installed in keeping with the metal roof panel manufacturer's printed instructions. Install on EPDM pad (not shown) or use a tall clip sized to support the panel on top of the ventilation layer.
(8) Flush rake-edge flashing
Note that panel hooks onto outside edge of flashing, which is mechanically secured to the roof deck.
(9) Architectural metal roof panel

2 RELATED WORK BY OTHERS

(A) Acceptable deck
(B) Fascia Board

NOTE: See the Standard for additional requirements.
