Division E - General Information

Deck and Wall Overlays

NOTICE TO READER: This is an information page only. To read the standards applicable to a particular Waterproofing or Water-shedding System, refer to the actual RoofStar Guarantee Standards located in Division D: Waterproofing Systems (Roofs), Division E: Water-shedding Systems or Division F: Grade-level Waterproofing.
NOTE: See also Accepted Roof Deck Overlay Board products

Deck and wall overlays (also called a system underlays) are installed under the roof system and over the supporting deck or wall structure, to provide a suitable substrate for roof materials. These products are most commonly placed over steel decks to provide a level surface for the membrane, or as a thermal barrier between the roof deck and combustible insulation.
