Product Group: STANDING SEAM METAL ROOF SYSTEM – 30 / 80 LM SCHLEBACH 1"

DESCRIPTION

The Schlebach 1" Standing Seam metal roofing is a shop formed and an on-site continuous panel metal roofing machine. Panel profiles vary from 300 mm (12") to 500 mm (20") (standard width is 13", 15" or 20") with a seam height of 1". It can be rolled square, tapered and curved. It comes with no stiffening rib, with stiffening ribs and striation.

1.1 GENERAL
The roofing assembly / material information published in the RCABC Roofing Practices Manual DOES NOT represent a complete set of the manufacturer's published data, nor does it represent a detailed specification. The preparation of a detailed specification is the responsibility of the design authority.
1.2 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
.1 Standing seam panels employ a hidden fastening system for securement to a solid substrate. Panels are seamed together with a mechanical seamer.
.2 Range of application: on wood or metal-sloped roofs; in commercial, institutional, industrial and residential construction; for reroofing or new construction.
.3 Panel Attachment:
Fasteners (Screws)
For panel clip to steel attachment to be No. 12-16 by 22 mm (1") long self-drilling, self-tapping, hex-washer head plated steel screws used without sealing washers. Two fasteners per panel clip used, inserted into panel clip guide holes.
Roof Deck Fasteners (Panel Clips)
Two piece assembly consisting of a No. 18 or No. 16 MSG min thick coated steel base approximately 22 mm (1") wide x 125 mm (5") long and No. 24 MSG min thick steel upper tap section height 22 mm (1") as manufactured by metal Roofing Supply Inc. in Denver or equivalent shop formed clip by Parker Johnston Industries Ltd. As per RoofStar Guarantee standard D6.1. One panel clip spaced at 600 mm (24") on centre.
1.3 SITE CONDITIONS
.1 Minimum roof slope is 1:6 (2" in 12"). Severe conditions (heavy snow or ice) minimum slope is 1:1.5 (8" in 12").
1.4 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
.1 Wind Uplift Standards:
National Research Council (NRC-CNRC) Report No.B1040 Wind Uplift Resistance of Metal Roofing. The NRC-CNRC Report No. B1040 test results confirm that an acceptable level of wind uplift resistance can be achieved with RGC Accepted Metal Panel Systems on typical roof designs over solid decking for most British Columbia geographical locations. Refer to Appendix II for calculations for typical roof wind uplift pressure requirements for buildings located in the Province of British Columbia.

A simplified design procedure developed by NRC-CNRC for selecting wind pressure calculations for metal roof assemblies by region (location) and building height in the Province of British Columbia is provided in TAB 8.1.5 to assist designers.

RGC accepted metal panel systems shall be formed of steel conforming to one of the following material specifications, as applicable:

  • ASTM Standard Specification A653 / A653M, Sheet Steel, Zinc-Coated (Galvanized) or Zinc-Iron Alloy Coated (Galvannealed) by the hot dip process, minimum Grade 33, with a design thickness of 24 gauge. (0.024") or greater and a minimum zinc coating designation Z275 (G-90).
  • ASTM Standard Specification A792 / A792M, Steel Sheet, 55% Aluminum-Zinc Alloy-Coated by the Hot-Dip Process, minimum Grade 33, with a design thickness of 24 gauge

(0.024") or greater and minimum coating designation AZ150.
