^** While Semi-intensive, Intensive, and Hybrid (blue-green) vegetated roof systems are permitted only on protected membrane roofs (also called "inverted roof assemblies"; see the Sentence 1.1.3.2.(5) in the "RGC Standard for Vegetated Roofs"), some vegetated roof system manufacturers offer their systems for conventionally insulated roofs (these systems are accepted by the RGC and listed here but are non-conforming to the RGC Standard). Consult the system manufacturer for a re-design of the system for use on a protected membrane roof, or submit a request to the RGC for a written Variance to permit the system on a conventionally insulated roof assembly following the requirements in Article 1.1.3.6..
