OVERVIEW

The SS 150 metal panel is formed with an on-site/in shop continuous metal roofing panel roll forming machine (New Tech Machinery Panel Machine). This machine produces a standing seam panel with a seam height of 38 mm (1-1/2") and profiles can vary from 300 mm (12") wide up to 500 mm (20") wide.

On-site roll forming provides for the elimination of end laps with continuous panel forming capabilities. For available panel lengths, consult the manufacturer.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. General: Standing seam panels use a hidden fastening clip system for mechanical fastening to a solid substrate. The maximum spacing of the clips is 600 mm (24") on centre. The panels are locked together, with the clips as part of the seam, by use of a mechanical seamer.
  2. Range of application: On wood or metal sloped roofs; in commercial, institutional, industrial and residential construction; for re-roofing or new construction.
  3. Panel Attachment: Fastening is site specific, engineer must confirm fixing specifications.
  4. Fasteners (Screws):
    1. Fasteners used to attach panel clips to plywood must be No. 10-12 by 25 mm (1") long pancake head, No. 2 Phillips drive, A-point, coated steel screw. Minimum two fasteners per clip to be used.
  5. Panel Clips: One piece assembly 43.75 mm (1-3/4") wide, 31 mm (1-1/4") high (Englert “Series 1000 Interlocking Clip”). Minimum thickness 0.022 in. (No. 22 MSG). Clips spaced 600 mm (24") on centre fastened to plywood deck. Clips spaced maximum 600 mm (24") O.C., or as specified on engineered shop drawings (Ref. Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Roof Systems, Article 3.1.3.3. and Article 3.1.3.5.).
  6. Deck Requirements: in keeping with the Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Systems.
