The metal panel listed and described below is accepted for use in the RoofStar Guarantee Program. |
The roofing assembly / material information published below and in the RCABC Roofing Practices Manual DOES NOT represent a complete set of the manufacturer's published data, nor does it represent a detailed specification. The preparation of a detailed specification is the responsibility of the design authority. For more information about this product or system, consult the manufacturer. |
OVERVIEW
The BA-Versaclip (SS675) standing seam panel is formed with an on-site/in-shop continuous metal roofing panel roll forming machine (New Tech SS Multipro). This machine produces a standing seam panel with a seam height of 44.5mm (1.75") and profiles can vary from 304.8mm (12") wide up to 457.2mm (18") wide. This machine also produces FF100 (BA-Versasnap), SS100 (BA-Versaspan1), SS150 (BA-Versaspan1.5)
On-site roll forming provides for the elimination of end laps with continuous panel forming capabilities in lengths up to 200' plus (depending on coil size and handling/maneuvering.
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
- General: The BA-Versaclip (SS675) is a standing seam concealed fastener roof panel. The panel is attached with clips to allow for expansion and contraction. The maximum spacing of the clips and fasteners are 76.2mm (3').
- Range of application: Installed on wood or steel sloped roofs, in commercial, institutional, industrial and residential construction. For re-roofing or new construction. BA-Versaclip has the greatest structural properties compared BA-Versasnap (FF100), BA-Versaspan1 (SS100), BA-Versaspan1.5 (SS150).
- Panel Attachment: Fasteners are fixed through clips that hook onto the male leg of the panel. Spacing is site specific, engineer must confirm fixing specifications.
- Fasteners (Screws): Fasteners used to attach panel clips to steel to be No. 10-16 by 25 mm (1") long cadmium plated pancake head No. 2 Phillips drive, No. 3 self-drilling point steel screws. Two screws per clip inserted through 6.25 mm (1/4") diameter guide holes.
- Panel Clips: One-piece assembly, No. 22 MSG min thick, 87.5 mm (3-1/2") wide, 47.6 mm (1-7/8 in.) high. One panel clip spaced at 600 mm (24") O.C. for Class 90.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Wind Uplift Standards: Engineered designs to resist wind uplift may refer to the British Columbia Building Code, Div. B, Appendix C, Table C-2 which lists various types of loads, including wind loads, for specific reference locations throughout the province. See also Guides and Notes (Wind Resistance) for a simplified calculation procedure. Regardless of the resources indicated here, the Design Authority is responsible to perform accurate wind load calculations and specify securement requirements.
- Materials:RoofStar (RGC) accepted metal panel systems shall be formed of steel conforming to the standards published in the RoofStar Guarantee Standards for ASM Systems.
