OVERVIEW
The New Tech Machinery Panel Machine is an on-site continuous panel metal roofing machine. This machine produces MR/S-100 panels with a seam height of 22 mm (1"). Panel profiles vary from 300 mm (12") to 500mm (20") wide.
On-site roll forming provides for the elimination of end laps with continuous panel forming capabilities in lengths up to nominal 46 m (150').
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
- General: Standing seam panels use a hidden fastening clip system for mechanical fastening to a solid substrate. The maximum spacing of the clips is 600 mm (24") on centre. The panels are locked together with the clips as part of the seam, by use of a mechanical seamer.
- Range of application: on wood or metal sloped roofs with or without exterior insulation; in commercial, institutional, industrial and residential construction; for re-roofing or new construction.
- Fasteners (Screws): Fasteners used to attach panel clips to steel to be No. 10-16 by 25 mm (1") long pancake head, No. 2 Phillips drive, A-point, coated screw. Minimum two fasteners per clip to be used. Two screws per clip inserted through 6.25 mm (1/4") diameter guide holes.
- Panel Clips: One piece assembly 43.75 mm (1-3/4") wide, 31 mm (1-1/4") high. Minimum thickness 0.022". (No. 22 MSG). Clips spaced 600 mm (24") on centre fastened to plywood deck. Englert "series 1000 Interlocking Clip".
- Deck Requirements: in keeping with the RoofStar Guarantee Standards for ASM Systems.

SITE CONDITIONS
- Minimum roof slope is 1:4 (3" in 12"). Severe conditions (heavy snow or ice) minimum slope is 1:1.5 (8" in 12").
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Wind Uplift Standards: Engineered designs to resist wind uplift may refer to the British Columbia Building Code, Div. B, Appendix C, Table C-2 which lists various types of loads, including wind loads, for specific reference locations throughout the province. See also Guides and Notes (Wind Resistance) for a simplified calculation procedure. Regardless of the resources indicated here, the Design Authority is responsible to perform accurate wind load calculations and specify securement requirements.
- Materials:RoofStar (RGC) accepted metal panel systems shall be formed of steel conforming to the standards published in the RoofStar Guarantee Standards for ASM Systems.
