OVERVIEW
The New Tech Machinery Panel Machine is an on-site continuous metal roofing panel roll forming machine. This machine produces Seam Lock - SS 150 with a seam height of 38 mm (1-1/2") and Seam Lock - SS 100 with a seam height of 22 mm (1"). Both panel profiles vary from 300 mm (12") to 500 mm (20") wide.
On-site roll forming provides for the elimination of end laps with continuous panel forming capabilities in lengths up to nominal 46m (150').
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
- General: Standing seam panels use a hidden fastening clip system for mechanical fastening to a solid substrate. The maximum spacing of the clips is 600 mm (24") on centre. The panels are locked together, with the clips as part of the seam, by use of a mechanical seamer.
- Range of application: on wood or metal sloped roofs; in commercial, institutional, industrial and residential construction; for re-roofing or new construction.
- Fasteners (Screws): used to attach clips to plywood to be #8 x 1" long, pancake head, A-point, coated steel screw. Minimum two screws per clip. For steel decking or Z-girts the same size of screw with a pancake head, having a self-drill and tap point, and again two screws per clip.
- Panel Clips: one piece clip 64 mm (2") wide by 38 mm (1.5") high with a 16 mm (3/4") base. The minimum thickness is 22 gauge metal; fastened to a plywood deck 600 mm (24") on centre. Manufactured by Architectural Metal Specialities Inc.
- Deck Requirements: in keeping with the Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Systems.

SITE CONDITIONS
- Minimum roof slope is 1:6 (2" in 12"). Severe conditions (heavy snow or ice) minimum slope is 1:2.5 (8" in 12").
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Wind Uplift Resistance: Panel securement shall conform to the requirements in Part 3 of the Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Systems.
- Materials:RoofStar (RGC) accepted metal panel systems shall be formed of steel conforming to the requirements published in Section 9.2. of the Standard.
