The roofing assembly / material information published below and in the RCABC Roofing Practices Manual DOES NOT represent a complete set of the manufacturer's published data, nor does it represent a detailed specification. The preparation of a detailed specification is the responsibility of the design authority. For more information about this product or system, consult the manufacturer.

OVERVIEW

The ESE 150 is an on-site continuous panel metal roofing machine. Panel profiles vary from 300 mm (12") to 500 mm (20") wide with a standing seam height of 38 mm (1 1/2"). This on-site manufacturing eliminates the need for end laps, with continuous panel forming capabilities in lengths up to 30.77 m (100').

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. General: Standing seam panels use a hidden fastening clip system for mechanical fastening to a solid substrate. The maximum spacing of the clips is 600 mm (24") on centre. The panels are locked together, with the clips as part of the seam, by use of a mechanical seamer.
  2. Range of application: on sloped wood or metal roof decks; in residential, commercial, and industrial applications; for new or re-roofing.
  3. Fasteners (Screws): Used to attach clips to plywood to be #8 x 1" long, pancake head, A-point, coated steel screw. Minimum two screws per clip. For steel decking or Z-girts the same size of screw with a pancake head, having a self-drill and tap point, and again two screws per clip.
  4. Panel Clips: One piece clip 64 mm (2 ") wide by 38 mm (1 ½") high with a 16 mm (3/4") base. The minimum thickness is 22 gauge metal; fastened to a plywood deck 600 mm (24") on centre. Manufactured by Architectural Metal Specialties Inc.
  5. Deck Requirements: in keeping with the Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Systems.
