#'''Wind Uplift Standards''': Engineered designs to resist wind uplift may refer to the British Columbia Building Code, Div. B, Appendix C, Table C-2 which lists various types of loads, including wind loads, for specific reference locations throughout the province. See also [http://{{SERVERNAME}}/index.php?title=ASM_Application_Guides_and_Notes Guides and Notes (Wind Resistance)] for a simplified calculation procedure. Regardless of the resources indicated here, the Design Authority is responsible to perform accurate wind load calculations and specify securement requirements.

The roofing assembly / material information published below and in the RCABC Roofing Practices Manual DOES NOT represent a complete set of the manufacturer's published data, nor does it represent a detailed specification. The preparation of a detailed specification is the responsibility of the design authority. For more information about this product or system, consult the manufacturer.

OVERVIEW

The Schlebach Quadro Panel Machine is an on-site/in-shop continuous metal roofing and soffit panel roll forming machine. This machine produces 25 mm (1")and 38 mm (1.5") seam heights in Snap lock, Nail strip and 25 mm (1") and 38 mm (1.5") and 50 mm (2") seam heights in Mechanical Lock profiles. Panels can be produced in widths from 225 mm (9") wide to 500 mm (20") wide.

On-site roll forming provides for the elimination of end laps with continuous panel forming capabilities in lengths up to 46 m (150').

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. General: Standing seam panels utilize a hidden fastening clip system for mechanical fastening to a solid substrate. The maximum spacing of the clips in the snap lock or mechanically locked system is 600 mm OC (24"). The panels are locked together with the clips as part of the seam, by use of friction in the case of the Snap lock profiles, or by use of a mechanical seamer in the case of the mechanically locked profiles.
  2. Range of application: on wood or metal sloped roofs; in commercial, institutional, industrial and residential construction. This product is acceptable for re-roofing or new construction applications.
  3. Fasteners (Screws): Fasteners used to attach panel nail strip or clips to plywood to be No. 10 by min 25 mm (1") pancake head, No. 2 Phillips drive, A-point, coated steel screw. Minimum two fasteners per clip to be used.
  4. Panel Clips:
    1. One-piece assembly 43.75 mm (1-3/4") wide, heights to suit seam height as per manufacturer's requirements. Minimum clip thickness 0.022" (No. 22 MSG). Clips spaced maximum 600 mm (24") O.C., fastened to plywood or steel deck. Minimum of two fasteners used Schlebach Quadro Fixed Clip.
    2. Two-piece assembly to be used for longer panel lengths, clip to be Schlebach approved 22 ga, 87.5 mm (3-1/2") wide by appropriate height to suit seam height chosen. One panel clip spaced a min. of maximum of 600 mm (24") O.C.
  5. Deck Requirements: in keeping with the Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Systems.

SITE CONDITIONS

Minimum roof slope is 1:4 (3" in 12"). Severe conditions (heavy snow or ice) minimum slope is 1:1.5 (8" in 12").

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Wind Uplift Resistance: Panel securement shall conform to the requirements in Part 3 of the Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Systems.
  2. Materials:RoofStar (RGC) accepted metal panel systems shall be formed of steel conforming to the requirements published in Section 9.2. of the Standard.
