Division C - Accepted Materials
Snap Lock II 675
by Flynn Canada Ltd.
The metal panel listed and described below is accepted for use in the RoofStar Guarantee Program. |
The roofing assembly / material information published below and in the RCABC Roofing Practices Manual DOES NOT represent a complete set of the manufacturer's published data, nor does it represent a detailed specification. The preparation of a detailed specification is the responsibility of the design authority. For more information about this product or system, consult the manufacturer. |
OVERVIEW
The Snap Lock II 675 Panel is an on-site continuous panel metal roofing machine. Panel profiles vary from 300 mm (12") to 500 mm (20") wide with a seam height of 44 mm (1-3/4").
On-site roll forming provides for the elimination of end laps with continuous panel forming capabilities in lengths up to nominal 46 m (150').
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
- General: the SS 675 44 mm (1-3/4") Snap-Lock profile is a snap lock concealed fastener roofing panel. The panel can be formed in any width between 300 mm (12") and 450 mm (18"). Stiffening ribs, striations and/or clip relief can be added, depending in the application. The male leg locks along the entire length of the panel and does not rely upon clips to provide additional locking. The SS 675 utilizes 153 mm (6-1/8") of metal in forming the panel legs providing greater structural integrity, which can carry greater loads.
- Range of application: On wood or metal sloped roofs; in commercial, institutional, industrial and residential construction; for re-roofing or new construction.
- Fasteners (Screws): Fasteners used to attach panel clips to steel to be No. 10-16 by 25 mm (1") long cadmium plated pancake head No. 2 Phillips drive, No. 3 self-drilling point steel screws. Two screws per clip inserted through 6.25 mm (1/4") diameter guide holes.
- Panel Clips: One-piece assembly, No. 22 MSG min thick, 87.5 mm (3-1/2") wide, 47.6 mm (1-7/8 in.) high. One panel clip spaced at 600 mm (24") O.C. for Class 90.
- Deck Requirements: in keeping with the Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Systems.

SITE CONDITIONS
Minimum roof slope is 1:4 (3" in 12"). Severe conditions (heavy snow or ice) minimum slope is 1:1.5 (8" in 12").
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Wind Uplift Standards: Engineered designs to resist wind uplift may refer to the British Columbia Building Code, Div. B, Appendix C, Table C-2 which lists various types of loads, including wind loads, for specific reference locations throughout the province. See also Guides and Notes (Wind Resistance) for a simplified calculation procedure. Regardless of the resources indicated here, the Design Authority is responsible to perform accurate wind load calculations and specify securement requirements.
- Materials:RoofStar (RGC) accepted metal panel systems shall be formed of steel conforming to the standards published in the Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Systems.
