OVERVIEW

The Knudson P-2406 is an on-site continuous metal roll forming machine. Panel profiles vary from 300 mm (12") to 500 mm (20") wide with a seam height of 38 mm (1.5"). Panels are produced with two stiffening flutes.

On-site roll forming provides for the elimination of end laps with continuous panel forming capabilities.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

General: Standing seam panels employ a hidden fastening system for securement to a solid substrate. Panels are seamed together with a mechanical seamer.
Range of application: On wood or metal sloped roofs; in commercial, institutional, industrial and residential construction; for re-roofing or new construction.
Fasteners (Screws):
1. Wood Decks: Fasteners to be #10 x 22 mm (1") long pancake head type A plated.
2. Steel Decks: Fasteners to be #8-16 x 22 mm (1") long self-drilling, self tapping wafer head, plated screws.
Panel Clips:
1. Wood Decks:
  - Panel clip to be Knudson 22 ga one piece assembly 87.5 mm (3 1/2") wide 47.6 mm (1-5/8") high. One panel clip spaced at 762 mm (30") on centre. Two fasteners per panel clip used, inserted into panel clip guide holes. Fasteners to be #10 x 22 mm (1") long pancake head type A plated.
  - Two piece assembly to be used for longer panel lengths, clip to be Knudson 22 ga 87.5 mm (3 1/2") wide 47.6 mm (1-5/8") high. One panel clip spaced at 600 mm (24") on centre.
2. Steel Decks:
  - Panel clip to be Knudson 22 ga one piece assembly 87.5 mm (3 1/2") wide 47.6 mm (1-5/8") high. One panel clip spaced at 600 mm (24") on centre. Two fasteners per panel clip used, inserted into panel clip guide holes. Fasteners to be #8-16 x 22 mm (1") long self-drilling, self tapping wafer head, plated screws.
  - Two piece assembly to be used for longer panel lengths, clip to be Knudson 22 ga 87.5 mm (3 1/2") wide 47.6 mm (1-5/8") high. One panel clip spaced at 600 mm (24") on centre.
Deck Requirements: in keeping with the Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Systems.

SITE CONDITIONS

Minimum roof slope is 1:4 (3" in 12"). Severe conditions (heavy snow or ice) minimum slope is 1:1.5 (8" in 12").

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

Wind Uplift Standards: Engineered designs to resist wind uplift may refer to the British Columbia Building Code, Div. B, Appendix C, Table C-2 which lists various types of loads, including wind loads, for specific reference locations throughout the province. See also Guides and Notes (Wind Resistance) for a simplified calculation procedure. Regardless of the resources indicated here, the Design Authority is responsible to perform accurate wind load calculations and specify securement requirements.
Materials:RoofStar (RGC) accepted metal panel systems shall be formed of steel conforming to the standards published in the Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Systems.
