AR5150 Nail Strip Panel

The roofing assembly / material information published below and in the RCABC Roofing Practices Manual DOES NOT represent a complete set of the manufacturer's published data, nor does it represent a detailed specification. The preparation of a detailed specification is the responsibility of the design authority. For more information about this product or system, consult the manufacturer.

OVERVIEW

The AR5150 Nail Strip panel is formed with an on-site / in-shop continuous metal roofing panel roll forming machine (Schlebach Quadro+). This machine produces a Nail-strip panel with a seam height of 38 mm (1½") and profiles can vary from 200 mm (8") wide up to 637.5 mm (25½") wide . This machine also produces a Snap-lock panel and a mechanically seamed panel.

On-site roll forming provides for the elimination of end laps with continuous panel forming capabilities in lengths up to nominal 46 m (150').

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. General: The AR5150 NS panel is a snap-lock concealed fastener roofing panel. The panel is fastened to the acceptable substrate along the integrated fastening strip along the entire length of the panel. The overlying panel (female rib) locks together with the underlying panel’s integrated clip (male), along the entire length of the panel. The maximum spacing of the fasteners is 600 mm (24") on centre.
  2. Range of application: on wood or metal sloped roofs; in commercial, institutional, industrial and residential construction; for re-roofing or new construction.
  3. Panel Attachment:
  • Fasteners (Screws): Fasteners used to attach panels to plywood to be No. 10-12 by 25 mm (1") long pancake head wood screws.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Wind Uplift Standards: Engineered designs to resist wind uplift may refer to the British Columbia Building Code, Div. B, Appendix C, Table C-2 which lists various types of loads, including wind loads, for specific reference locations throughout the province. See also Guides and Notes (Wind Resistance) for a simplified calculation procedure. Regardless of the resources indicated here, the Design Authority is responsible to perform accurate wind load calculations and specify securement requirements.
  2. Materials:RoofStar (RGC) accepted metal panel systems shall be formed of steel conforming to the standards published in the Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Roof Standards.
