The roofing assembly / material information published below and in the RCABC Roofing Practices Manual DOES NOT represent a complete set of the manufacturer's published data, nor does it represent a detailed specification. The preparation of a detailed specification is the responsibility of the design authority. For more information about this product or system, consult the manufacturer.

OVERVIEW

The Series 1000 is an on-site continuous panel metal roofing machine. Panel profiles vary from 300 mm (12") to 500 mm (20") wide with a seam height of 37.5 mm (1-1/2").

On-site roll forming provides for the elimination of end laps with continuous panel forming capabilities in lengths up to nominal 46 m (150').

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. General: Standing seam panels employ a hidden fastening system for securement to a solid substrate. Maximum clip spacing is 450 mm (18") o/c. Panels are seamed together with a mechanical seamer.
  2. Range of application: on wood or metal sloped roofs; in commercial, institutional, industrial and residential construction; for re-roofing or new construction.
  3. Plywood Decking: The plywood is to be a nominal 15.9 mm (5/8") (19/32") thick, square edged.
  4. Panel Attachment: Fasteners are fixed through clips that hook onto the male leg of the panel. Spacing is site specific, engineer must confirm fixing specifications.
  5. Fasteners (Screws): Fasteners used to attach panel clips to plywood to be No. 10-12 by 25 mm (1 ".) long pancake head, No. 2 Phillips drive, A-point, coated steel screw. Minimum two fasteners per clip to be used.
  6. Panel Clips: One piece assembly 43.75 mm (1-3/4") wide, 31 mm (1-1/4") high. Minimum thickness 0.022 in. (No. 22 MSG). Clips spaced 600 mm (24") on centre fastened to plywood deck. Englert “Series 1000 Interlocking Clip”
  7. Deck Requirements: in keeping with the Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Systems.
