The roofing assembly / material information published below and in the RCABC Roofing Practices Manual DOES NOT represent a complete set of the manufacturer's published data, nor does it represent a detailed specification. The preparation of a detailed specification is the responsibility of the design authority. For more information about this product or system, consult the manufacturer. |
OVERVIEW
The SS 150 standing seam panel is formed in-house with an Nu-Tech SSP continuous metal roofing panel roll forming machine. This machine produces a standing seam panel with a seam height of 38.1 mm (1-1/2"). Profiles can vary from 304.8 mm (12") wide to 609.6 mm (24") wide.
This machine also produces the Nu-Tech SS200 panel profile and a 44 mm (1-3/4") high Nu-Tech panel profile.
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
- General: The SS 150 panel is a standing seam concealed fastener roofing panel. The maximum spacing of the clips is 609.6 mm (24") O.C.
- Range of application: on wood or metal sloped roofs; in commercial, institutional, industrial and residential construction; for re-roofing or new construction.
- Fasteners (Screws):
- Fasteners (screws) used to attach panels to plywood deck to be No. 10-12 by 19.05 mm (5/8") long pancake head wood screw. Minimum two fasteners per clip to be used.
- Two-piece assembly consists of a steel base approximately 127 mm (5") wide x 25.4 mm (1") long, with a minimum thickness of 0.026 (No. 24 MSG) and an upper tab that measures 50.8 mm high with a minimum thickness of 0.020 (No. 26 MSG). One panel clip spaced at 609.6 mm (24") O.C. maximum.
- Fabrication: Unless otherwise shown on drawings or specified herein, fabricate panels in continuous one piece lengths and fabricate flashings and accessories in longest practical lengths.
- Deck Requirements: in keeping with the Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Systems.

DELIVERY, STORAGE & HANDLING
- Protect against damage and discoloration.
- Handle panels with non-marring slings.
- Do not bend panels.
- Store panels above ground, with one end elevated for drainage.
- Protect panels against standing water and condensation between adjacent surfaces.
- If panels become wet, immediately separate sheets, wipe dry with clean cloth, allow to air dry.
FIELD MEASUREMENTS
- Verify prior to fabrication.
- If field measurements differ from drawing dimensions, notify Architect / Professional Engineer prior to fabrication.
PROTECTION
Treat, or isolate with protective material, any contacting surfaces of dissimilar materials to prevent electrolytic corrosion.

SITE CONDITIONS
- Minimum roof slope is 1:6 (2" in 12").
- Verify that structural deck to receive panels is complete, in true plane, secure and otherwise properly prepared.
- Prior to starting work, notify General Contractor about defects requiring correction.
- Do not start work until conditions are satisfactory.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Wind Uplift Resistance: Panel securement shall conform to the requirements in Part 3 of the Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Systems.
- Materials:RoofStar (RGC) accepted metal panel systems shall be formed of steel conforming to the requirements published in Section 9.2. of the Standard.
