OVERVIEW

The 1" MR-100 is a metal roof panel formed from 24 gauge. The panel can be applied onto solid sheeting with or without insulation. Width from 300 mm (12") to 500 mm (20") wide with a 25 mm (1") height at the male rib.

On-site roll forming provides for the elimination of end laps with continuous panel forming capabilities in lengths up to nominal 46 m (150').

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. General: Metal panels employ a hidden fastening system for securement to a solid substrate. 1" MR-100 panels are produced with a nail strip to eliminate the use of clips and allow the panel seams to interlock without having to use a mechanical seaming device.
  2. Range of application: on wood or metal sloped roofs, with or without exterior insulation; in commercial, institutional, industrial and residential construction; also used for roof replacement (retrofit) application.
  3. Fabrication:
    1. Unless otherwise shown on drawings or specified herein, fabricate panels in continuous one piece lengths and fabricate flashings and accessories in longest practical lengths.
    2. Roofing panels shall be factory formed or site formed.
    3. Verify prior to fabrication.
    4. If field measurements differ from drawing dimensions, notify Architect / Professional Engineer prior to fabrication.
  4. Fasteners (Screws): Fasteners(Screws) - Fasteners used to attach panels to steel or wood substrate to be No. 10 - 16 pancake head, No. 2 Phillips drive, self-drilling, coated screw.
  5. Delivery, Storage & Handling:
    1. Protect against damage and discoloration.
    2. Handle panels with non-marring slings.
    3. Do not bend panels.
    4. Store panels above ground, with one end elevated for drainage.
    5. Protect panels against standing water and condensation between adjacent surfaces.
    6. If panels become wet, immediately separate sheets, wipe dry with clean cloth, allow to air dry.
    7. Treat, or isolate with protective material, any contacting surfaces of dissimilar materials to prevent electrolytic corrosion.
  6. Deck Requirements: in keeping with the Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Systems.

SITE CONDITIONS

  1. Minimum roof slope is 1:4 (3" in 12"). Severe conditions (heavy snow or ice) minimum slope is 1:1.5 (8" in 12").
  2. Verify that structural deck to receive panels is complete, in true plane, secure and otherwise properly prepared.
  3. Prior to starting work, notify General Contractor about defects requiring correction.
  4. Do not start work until conditions are satisfactory.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Wind Uplift Resistance: Panel securement shall conform to the requirements in Part 3 of the Standard for Architectural Sheet Metal (ASM) Systems.
  2. Materials:RoofStar (RGC) accepted metal panel systems shall be formed of steel conforming to the requirements published in Section 9.2. of the Standard.
