6 Liquid Membrane Flashing
- Note to Reader
- Liquid membrane flashing systems are manufactured from various bituminous and non-bituminous materials. These manufactured proprietary flashing systems are specifically designed for use to flash unusual roof penetration shapes or roof details that are difficult to flash with traditional membranes.
- Liquid membrane flashings are available as one or two part component systems that require reinforcement scrims for strength. To ensure quality installation, manufacturers’ proprietary application instructions must be strictly followed.
- 2-Part Component Systems
- For use with fabric reinforcement only (refer to product Technical Data Sheet for proprietary reinforcement materials). These systems may be used on or within 200 mm (8") of the water plane.

- Single-component Systems
- (NOTE: these flashing systems have limited application within the RoofStar Guarantee Program, and may be used on upstand angles, support junctions and joints that are typically more than 200 mm (8") above water plane. These materials may also be used as a coating on galvanized flashings and other strip-in flashings requiring a coating (see RoofStar Guarantee Standards for SBS-modified Bitumen Roof Assemblies, 12.4 Strip-in Flashings)

9 Accessories
An Accessory is a material that joins Primary or Secondary Materials together, or is connected to/with a Primary or Secondary material, but does not by its nature (apart from its installation) directly affect the waterproofing or water-shedding capabilities of the system.
Accessories are not currently part of the Accepted Material program, but are listed here for reference to specifiers, designers and installers. |
These membranes are not Accepted for use in the primary waterproofing system, but may be use as for an ancillary function - for example, as protective membranes (a 'sacrificial' cap membrane).
Manufacturer | Product Name | Description | Application Method | Suitability |
---|---|---|---|---|
Polyglass USA, Inc. | Polyfresko G SA | APP membrane | Self-adhering | Walkways, accessory surfaces |
Polyglass USA, Inc. | Polyfresko G FR | APP membrane (fire resistant) | Heat-welding | Walkways, accessory surfaces |
Polyglass USA, Inc. | Polyfresko G | APP membrane | Heat-welding, hot asphalt, cold processing | Walkways, accessory surfaces |

Polyglass USA, Inc. | Polyflex G HP | APP membrane | Heat-welding, hot asphalt, cold processing | Walkways, accessory surfaces |
Coatings are not a waterproofing product, but rather enhance solar reflectivity or other properties of a membrane. The inclusion of these materials, although acceptable under the RoofStar Guarantee Program, is not part of the Guarantee.
